About the Artist

Garry has lived in the Spokane, Washington area all of his life. He currently lives north of Spokane in Deer Park, Washington with his wonderful wife Laura and his active son Andrew.

In the mid-1970’s at the age of 14, Garry became interested in taxidermy and took lesson through the mail. He developed a love for his hobby and continued developing his skills. In the early-1980’s, Garry started doing taxidermy work on a part time basis. As soon as people saw the quality and stunning beauty of his work, his clientele list grew rapidly. By the mid-1980’s, Garry went into business as a taxidermist on a full time basis. Garry’s work was so creative and life like that he was known as one of the best taxidermist in the area. In 1988, Garry went to his first competition and received two first place ribbons, one for a fish and one for a game head. For the next seven (7) years, Garry competed at the state, regional and national level and won numerous awards for his work. Through this success, Garry realized his true talent for color, design, creativity, and the natural God given talent and ability that he possessed. With every piece of work over the years, Garry has truly enjoyed taking an idea and turning it into a colorful, balanced piece of artwork that can bring back those special memories and stir up the emotion and love for the outdoors.
